We are Kevin and Shan, Arcade and Claw Machine Youtubers based in Houston, TX! We've been making Youtube videos since 2017 and have no plans on stopping! We have over 550 videos uploaded - that's a LOT of credits!
If you're looking for an arcade channel to show you how to win HUGE JACKPOTS... well, this ain't it. We are not pros, we just have a good time! And man do we try so hard...
If you're looking for a channel to show you sweet tricks and hacks and HUGE PRIZE HAULS from the claw machine... well, this might not be it either. Heck we break them more than we win... It's not our fault! I SWEAR
What you WILL find here are genuinely funny and unscripted videos of our adventures at the arcade! Cursed games, broken games, spending way too much money, picking fun on each other, and of course the occasional win... that's what we do on DCG!
OUR STORY
Like all of our adventures, it all started at the arcade.
It was a warm July evening in 2017. We were at iT'Z, a local arcade to our area, just to blow off some steam from another long and busy day at work. Kevin was playing the Moving Castle claw machine, winning plush after plush, when a man walked up to him. He complimented Kevin on his wins, and eventually said, "How do you win on this? I've been trying to win this plush for my girlfriend for half an hour!"
On the first try, Kevin won the little plushie for him - a stuffed flamingo - and he and his girlfriend were ecstatic. He thanked him, and said the words that would change our lives forever: "Man, you should be on Youtube!"
July 2017 - Kevin hated having his picture taken - not a good start to being a Youtuber!
On August 2nd, 2017, we uploaded our very first Youtube video ever - An arcade run at Speedy's Fast Track, another local arcade (and personal favorite) in the Houston area. It was the most awkward thing we had ever done - Sure, we were arcade veterans, but to have a camera and recording ourselves playing? It was SO weird! We had no idea how to edit videos either, so it was a lot of learning on the fly. It would be many months before we would find our "camera voices" and get more comfortable!
Over the next couple years, we would experiment with different types of arcade and claw machine videos, trying to find what felt right. We did collabs with other Youtubers in our community, challenges, "hunt for the prize" videos, and more. We would record at local arcades, big chain arcades, and even travelled to other states to record! Even though we both were working full time, we were firm on uploading 3 videos a week, and never stopped no matter what! The early years of DCG were filled with new experiences and funny moments that some of our most hardcore fans remember - and reference - today! Triple catcher mega dash! Fruit salad! Stroke bear!
Like all brand new things, we did struggle to find out who we were and what we stood for. We would stress over not getting every jackpot, and scrap any video where we didn't win a prize, all because we thought we had to! But as the years went on, we realized - Our amazing fans loved US way more than the game! And that, my friends, is what made us decide to be the DCG we are today!
We decided to double-down on being 100% ourselves on camera, and focus more on the fun and adventure at the arcade and way less on the big wins and huge prize hauls. And we're so happy we did! Our videos have grown so much over the years, and we're far happier making content that makes US happy as well as you! Even when the games are super cursed, broken, or when we're just absolutely terrible, it's always a fun time to watch. When you see us laughing and smiling on camera, it's not scripted - it's quite real! And that genuine honesty is the backbone of what makes a DCG video.
Travel is a huge part of what we do, and it's thanks to all the support we receive that we can make it happen! We've been so many places on our adventures to make amazing arcade videos! We've been to Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Galveston, and even out of state - Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, Colorado, and Pennsylvania - and we hope to someday record videos in Japan!
Looking forward, we're aiming to grow as a channel and build our community to even greater heights! We both are still full time employees alongside Youtube, but it's a dream to do this full time. Only the future will tell what will happen, but we're so stoked to see it, and we're happy you're here for the ride!
